UPDATE: A vigil was held at the Hollywood MAX station Saturday evening, to honor the two men martyred in Friday's White terrorist attack. At 6:30pm thousands of people began to gather on the grassy knoll in front of the Trimet station to pay tribute to Ricky John Best, 53 and Taliesin Myrddin Namakai-Meche, 23. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and mayor Ted Wheeler were also in attendance, along with other Oregon politicians. The two men were slashed to death by a White supremacist and Trump supporter id'ed as Jeremy Joseph Christian. The 35 year old White terrorist was said to have been hurling racial slurs at two Muslim women at the MAX station Friday evening, when Best and Meche tried to intervene. That's when Christian pulled out a knife and murdered the two good seminarians. A third slashing victim has been id'ed as 21 year old Micah David Cole-Fletcher. Although injured, Cole-Fletcher did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

As is typical in such terrorist cases, Christian left behind an online trail of racist and incoherent rantings. This, in addition to his recent sightings at a White supremacist/pro-Trump so-called "free Speech" rally in Portland.
After a brief standoff, Christian was taken into custody by Portland police. Who oddly, have not blown him away. Luckily for the White piece-of-shit, he was not a 12 year old Black child playing with a toy gun. Otherwise, he'd have been dead in under .02 seconds. Chriatian remains in jail - alive - facing multiple felony charges, including aggravated murder.
UPDATE: The two murder victims, heroes, and martyrs from yesterday's White terrorist attack have been identified. Taliesin Myrddin Namakai-Meche has been named as one of the men murdered. The other man named is Ricky John Best. Both men were killed by White terrorist Jeremy Joseph Christian. Christian had been hurling racial slurs at two Muslim women when Meche and Best intervened. A third victim, age 21, remains unidentified. He was wounded, but is expected to survive.
UPDATE: The White terrorist has been identified as Jeremy Joseph Christian, age 35. He is a regular MAX rider who sells comic books. He has also been seen at recent White supremacist so-called "free speech" rallies here in Portland. So far, Christian has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder, attempted murder, intimidation in the second degree, and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. So this just happened a few hours ago, details are still pouring in. Here's what is known so far:
At around 4:30 this afternoon, a White man/Trump supporter allegedly started harassing two women in a MAX platform here in Portland, OR. The incident took place at the Hollywood MAX transit stop. According to eyewitnesses, the two women were Middle Eastern in appearance, with one of them wearing a hijab. When the White racist thug became more belligerent and hostile towards the women, two other men attempted to intervene. The White criminal then pulled out a knife and slashed to two men. One victim reportedly died at the scene, the other died en route to the hospital. A third victim sustained stab wounds, but is expected to survive.
A standoff ensued, and several streets surrounding the MAX station were blocked. Cops eventually took the White terrorist into custody without further harm. This White piece-of-shit is in jail at this moment... still alive. Police have not gunned him down. Perhaps, the Portland Police will take the criminal on a trip to Burger King for his deeds. At this time, neither the suspect nor victims have been identified. More in this to come...

On Wednesday May 17th 2017, ex-cop Betty Jo Shelby beat the manslaughter charge she had been facing, for the Sept. 2016 murder of Terence Crutcher. A jury of all-Whites had reportedly deliberated for 8 hours, before deciding their verdict. Now this fat disgusting pig gets to walk free, and yet another innocent Black man is dead for nothing. Just forget about the fact that Crutcher was a stranded motorist in need of assistance. Forget the fact that he was never armed, never resisting, and never the least bit threatening. And just forget all about that footage (from a police helicopter, no damned less) that clearly showed Crutcher walking away from Shelby and other cops, with his hands up in the air. Forget about all these facts because fuck it - in this post-Trump era facts don't mean a goddamned thing. Especially in a court of [supposed] law.
I suppose now that the victim's family will file a wrongful death civil suit against the city of Tulsa and its murderous, racist police regime. Does it really even matter at this point???

The American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon has issued a scathing critique of the Portland Police Gestapo's response to recent May Day actions. The ACLU accuses the police regime of employing disproportionate and dangerous tactics that precipitated what media outlets keep referring to as a "riot". The National Lawyer's Guild and Lawyers For Good Government also criticized the PPG for a heavy-handed response to what had otherwise been a largely peaceful protest. The civil liberties groups issued this joint statement, as part of a letter to mayor Ted Wheeler:
"First-hand accounts from our legal observers and march organizers make it clear that there was very little violence or property destruction prior to the cancellation of the permit. Instead of handling the limited and isolated incidents appropriately, PPB created chaos by canceling a permitted march in progress without communicating to the participants, many of whom were families, children, and people with mobility issues."
Specifically, the ACLU criticized police for their hasty use of flashbang grenades and chemical munitions. Heavy and liberal use of such war-grade weaponry only served to amp up division, as well as embolden individuals whom were already intent on causing vandalism. The ACLU also criticized mayor Wheeler personally, for flipflopping on his previous campaign promises to de-militarize the Portland police, open dialogues of clear communication, and protect First Amendment rights. Instead, Wheeler has called for a crackdown on protests... typical.

I first wrote about the police murder of Terence Crutcher last September, and followed that up with a brief update back in April. If you're reading this, then you're likely aware of Crutcher's death. Gunned down by [ex]officer Betty Jo Shelby in Tulsa, OK on September 16th 2017. Crutcher, a Black man, who's SUV had stalled along a highway, was unarmed, nonthreatening, and had his hands up in the air when bitch pig Shelby decided to execute him. Shelby has since been sacked from her position at the Tulsa Police regime and charged with manslaughter. Her trial began on Monday May 8th starting with jury selection.
It is rare for a low-down cop to be reprimanded at all after murdering an innocent person. Rarer still, for said cop to lose their worthless job over it. And even more rare for the killer cop to be charged and go through the judicial process, all the way to a jury trial. And here is where piggy Shelby finds herself: one of those very few cops who's found themselves on trial for the wanton murder of someone who didn't deserve it. We've come all this way, but we'll see whether she actually gets convicted. And if that happens, how much time she'll received. An ex-cop on the hook for a manslaughter charge, she's looking at a few years in prison at best. Justice? Fuck no, not even close. But it'll be far more than we typically see in this miserable, dying empire of ours. Black lives indeed MATTER... and are worth more than a few measly-ass years. What a sad state of affairs we find ourselves in...
Back in July of last year I covered the frightening, yet cringe-worthy hijinks of local vlogger and alt-right terrorist shit-eater Michael Aaron Strickland. A self-proclaimed "citizen journalist", Strickland's MO was video recording progressive rallies in order to smear them on his YouTube channel 'Laughing At Liberals'. This was his very intention when he stalked a Don't Shoot Portland/BLM rally outside the Justice Center last July. DSP/BLM was holding what had been merely one of dozens of protest rallies in front of police regimes all over the country at the time. The collective actions had been in response to the high-profile police murders of two Black men in two different incidents, within two days of one another. Alton Sterling was murdered by terrorists cops in Baton Rouge on July 5th 2017. Philando Divall Castile was murdered the following day in St. Anthony, MINN.
Strickland had shown up to the Portland rally for the same reason he always had: to video record progressive actions, antagonize and harass participants, and post sneakily-edited footage to his youtube channel for purposes of mockery, propaganda, and neo-fascist recruitment. A known right-wing agitator, Strickland was quickly spotted and shooed away. That's when the conservative loser pulled out a loaded handgun and used it to threaten unarmed people. Strickland was arrested and charged with 21 criminal counts, including 10 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 10 counts of menacing, and one count of disorderly conduct. In February after a week-long trial, he was found guilty on all 21 counts. On Thursday march 4th, Strickland, 37, was sentenced to serve 40 days in jail and 240 hours of community service. He's also been banned from video-taping protesters until 2018. And he's been banned from owning guns for life.

Photos from Monday's May Day actions via down town Portland. Unfortunately, I did not make it dt until well after 4pm, so I missed most of the big crowds. Instead, I decided to mostly focus on the police presence, because they were certainly very much in sight. In full battle gear and heavily armed with the finest military weaponry, Portland riot cops likely numbered a several hundred. They occupied numerous intersections and arbitrarily closed off several roads. Here is some of what I witnessed - a full on POLICE-STATE:

I first covered the police murder of Black motorist Walter Scott back in April 2015. I also wrote a brief update on that case back in December 2016. Back then, Scott's killer, ex-cop (forever pig) Michael Slager, had been on trial for murder. That trial had ended in a hung jury. Prosecutors in the case were reportedly preparing to send scumbag Slager to trial again in August 2017. However, news broke just earlier today that the disgraced North Charleston cop has plead guilty to a federal charge of violating Scott's Civil Rights. Slager was lead out of the courthouse in handcuffs. He is scheduled to be sentenced in June. When and/or if that happens, you will see a full report here.
